Goals for this week

Ok, I’m starting to feel like it is getting to be crunch time before my 30th Birthday on April 14th and I have 13 pounds to lose by then. While, I do understand that it i just a number on the scale, I do know that I have gotten a bit sloppy in the past couple of weeks and want to clean up my act a bit. Review of this week

I stepped on the scale this week to learn that I have lost 5 pounds this week, so now I am down to 242 pounds. This was a large weight loss that I was not anticipating this week, and certainly do not expect this kind of weight loss every week. Though, it really does help give me motivation to keep moving forward. Even more importantly, my clothes feel more comfortable – dare I say they actually feel looser? So about a month into my weight loss journey and I have lost 18 pounds (most of which was water weight) and I feel the best that I have felt in a very long time. Not just Continue reading

My Love Affair with Diet Coke

A big part of my food addiction goes hand in hand with my love affair with Diet Coke. Over the past few years it had turned into a complete addiction with the drink. I started drinking Diet Coke fairly moderately while I was in High School. High School was an interesting time for me. I hated the way I looked, but didn’t care to take the time to do anything about it. I was out of shape and overweight, but not near to the level of morbid obesity that I am today. When I went to college I started increasing the amount of Diet Coke that I consumed in a day to about 36 ounces. Over the years that consumption would gradually increase to where I had been over the past two years or so, consuming at least 80 to 100 ounces of Diet Coke each day – sometimes to as much as 120 ounces per day.
